Customer Stories: ArmT Inc.

ArmT Inc. has been one of our highly valued customers since 2022. ArmT Inc. purchased its first Wavelight in 2022 and recently bought its second Wavelight system to use the Wavelight system for even more track & field events in Japan. To show our appreciation, we have interviewed Toru Tochizawa (CEO & Founder of ArmT Inc.), about his experience with Wavelight.

What is ArmT Inc.?

We are a sports event management company. We handle almost all aspects of planning, production, and operation of sports events. Our main focus is on track and field (long-distance) events, marathons, and Ekiden (long-distance relay race) events here in Japan.

How did you find out about Wavelight?

I first heard about Wavelight from a coach of a top Japanese team. I became curious and later watched the Diamond League on YouTube. That's how I discovered Wavelight.

How long have you been working with Wavelight?

We have been working with Wavelight for 2 years. In 2022, we invited Mr. Bram and Mr. Tom to Japan. It was the perfect setting for Wavelight's debut at a top-level competition held here in Tokyo.

How has your experience been working with Wavelight?

Our experience has been very satisfying! The installation is easy, and the system is very well-thought-out in terms of functionality. A lot of hard work must have gone into completing this system.

How did your customers/audience respond to the implementation of Wavelight?

Everyone is very pleased! Athletes, coaches, spectators, and everyone involved in the tournaments are praising Wavelight.

• Athletes: It helps them keep their pace and leads to better records.
• Coaches: They no longer need to check the stopwatch constantly as the pace of each athlete is visible. This allows us to observe their expressions, running form, and other aspects more closely.
• Spectators: The light makes it easier to cheer for the athletes during the race as we can see whether they are running fast or slow. It makes the whole race more interesting and exciting.

What has working with Wavelight done for your company?

We have been receiving offers from many races. It has led to more opportunities and new aspects regarding sports events!

Is there anything else you would like to share about your experience with Wavelight?

A new Japanese record was set in the men's 10,000m in 2023. Of course, the athlete’s effort was the main reason, but Wavelight played a significant role in that race. The lights helped him maintain his pace and boosted the spectators' enthusiasm, which greatly motivated him.

The World Athletic Championship will be held here in Japan in 2025. To attract more attention to domestic track and field events, we will try to make good use of Wavelight, this state-of-the-art system, leading them to great success.
