Elevating Korean athletics: Wavelight & Pace Rise

Around the world, our system has already proven to be a game changer by helping athletes push records to new heights and bringing spectators closer to the action. That is why we are proud to highlight our recent partnership with Pace Rise, who are leading the way in transforming athletics in South Korea.
Why Korea needed Wavelight
For years, many Korean athletes have had to travel abroad, to places like Japan, for better training and competition opportunities. One of those reasons is access to Wavelight. Seeing how the system supported Japanese athletes through our customer ArmT Inc., Roun Kim, founder of Pace Rise and former elite middle-distance runner, became inspired to bring the same opportunity to athletes in his home country.
His vision was simple: if Korea wanted to change its stagnating performances and create new passion for athletics, athletics in Korea needed innovation. Wavelight was the answer.
A promising start
Since its introduction in Korea, Wavelight has already made a big impact:
- Collaborations with companies like ASICS, Mizuno, and the Korean Athletics Federation have enabled its use at both major events and official competitions.
- In less than a year, around 50 Korean athletes have achieved new personal bests, supported by Wavelight.
- Two new national records have been set in competitions where Wavelight was used.
Looking ahead
This is only the beginning. Pace Rise is working to install Wavelight systems permanently across multiple stadiums, making sure that both elite runners and amateurs, can experience Wavelight. Together with Pace Rise, we are working on bringing Korean athletics to a higher level.
